Crane's Castle

Crane Castle Overlook
Grace Daly

The group spent two weeks painting in Ipswich at the famous Crane's Castle Estate.

2nd Annual Band of Brushes Painting Trip

"Here we are at the Dip Net having dinner. Hurricane Dan couldn't stop us from painting or visiting the sights..."

This year, many members of the group traveled to Port Clyde, Maine for the second annual painting trip. Last year, we encountered Hurricane Kyle and not to be outdone, this year, we witnessed remnants of Hurricane Dan.

On Saturday, we went to the Farnsworth Museum in Rockland to see the "7 Deadly Sins" exhibit by Jamie Wyeth. After witnessing the genius of this exhibit, we have decided to create our own "7 Deadly Sins" painting challenge. More to follow regarding this...

Amesbury Millyard

As the leaves begin to change and the wind picks up, we start to think about pulling out those big sweaters and putting our garden beds to sleep for the winter...

However, we still PAINT! Our group is a hardy one and on any given Tuesday, you'll see a few of us out and about painting. A couple weeks back, we met at the Amesbury Millyard to paint. Here's a beautiful example of a group member's work...

NAA Show...Huge Success!!!

Thank you to the BoB members for making this show a huge success!!! A special thanks to Christine for organizing all of us and keeping us on the right path. With teamwork and a ton of amazing art, our first show at the Newburyport Art Association went off without a hitch and was met with rave reviews from the gallery, patrons, and other artists.
A special congratulations to those artists who sold work:
Sandra Marucci Weisenhoff
Grace Daly
Sarajean Graham
Pam Perras
Christine Molitor Johnson
With such a short show, we sold a significant amount of artwork (over ten pieces)!!! Our reception was packed with artists, patrons, fans of our work and family members...all of whom had wonderful things to say about our art, our process and our overall talent of the group.
We are looking forward to an even more successful show next year...

Photographs of the show hanging to follow.
